Post your stock to Instagram

Listing an item isn't the hard part any more. Getting it seen is. Plenty of sellers already promote their stock on Instagram by hand — photographing it again, writing the caption again, typing the price again, all of it already sitting in Wrenlist.

This does that bit for you. You still choose the item, you still approve the words, and it goes to your own account — we just stop you typing it twice.

01

Connect your own account

You sign in on Instagram's own site and choose the account. It has to be a Business or Creator account — Instagram only permits posting from those, so we check at the point you connect and tell you how to switch rather than failing later. Wrenlist never sees your Instagram password.

02

Pick something you have already listed

Not a fresh upload — an item already in your Wrenlist inventory. The photos and the details are there, so there is nothing to retype.

03

We draft the post, you edit it

A caption composed from the listing you wrote — the item, the price, the condition, and hashtags worked out from its maker and category. Your listing photos become the carousel, resized so Instagram doesn't crop the item out of frame. Change any of it.

04

Post it now, or schedule it

Post immediately, or queue it for when your buyers actually browse — most sellers tell us that's the evening. Everything you have posted is listed with a link to it on Instagram.

What we touch, and what we don't

Connecting Instagram to anything deserves a straight answer about what it can then do. Here is ours.

what we do

  • Read your username and account type. So we can show you which account is connected, and confirm it's one Instagram will let us post from.
  • Publish the posts you make. When you press Post now, or when something you scheduled falls due.
  • Show you how your own posts did. Reach, likes and saves for the posts you published, so you can tell which items are worth promoting. Counts about a post — not information about the people who saw it.
  • Help with comments on your own posts, if you switch it on. Mostly one question — “is this still available?” — which we can answer from your real stock. Off until you turn it on, and you choose whether we draft the reply or send it.
  • Draft replies to your messages, if you connect them. We never send one on our own. Every message goes out because you pressed send.

what we never do

  • Post anything you didn't create and approve.
  • Post to any account other than the one you connected.
  • Read your feed, your followers, or anybody else's posts, comments or messages.
  • Message anyone who hasn't messaged you first — Instagram doesn't allow it and neither do we.
  • Use what people write to you for advertising, for training AI models, or for anything but showing it to you.
  • See or store your Instagram password.

Disconnecting takes one click

Disconnect on the Social page whenever you like. We delete the access token immediately, cancel anything still scheduled, and delete the comments and messages we were holding for you. Posts already published stay up — they're yours, on your account, and you delete them there if you want them gone. You can also revoke us from Instagram's side under Settings → Apps and websites. The full detail is in the privacy policy, including the one thing worth knowing about how Instagram fetches your photos.

Every caption needs somewhere to point

Instagram won't make a link in a caption tappable, so “link in bio” is the only thing that works. Wrenlist gives you one: a public shop page listing what you have for sale, at wrenlist.com/shop/your-handle. It needs no Instagram connection at all — the same link works in a Depop or Vinted bio.

Availability

Instagram posting is in limited release while Instagram completes its review of our app. The shop page above is available to everyone today. If you want to be told the moment posting opens up, say so at admin@wrenlist.com.
